Know the file format
CBZ usually packages images in ZIP; CBR uses RAR. PDF pages must be rendered, and MOBI contains book records and image references. Changing an extension does not convert a file.
CBZ/ZIP, CBR/RAR, PDF and supported DRM-free MOBI6/MOBI6+KF8 comics. Loose images cannot be imported. Website imports require a dedicated adapter.
Check the import
Use a complete file you are entitled to process. Check for passwords, damage or unsupported compression. After import, verify covers, chapter order, thumbnails and image clarity.
MOBI imports are limited to 512 MB and 1,500 pages and must pass structural checks. Supported body image references determine order; book HTML is not executed. Embedded GIFs can be read, but translation uses a normalized first frame. DRM is not removed.
Local import is not offline translation
Local comic parsing and original reading happen in the browser. Official translation uploads selected page images for processing and stores results privately. You can instead choose your own manga-translator-ui service; its configuration determines network access and image handling.
The library and reading position stay local. Reimporting the same content under the same account can match valid existing results. This is not automatic synchronization of your whole library or source files.
