Two different workflows
Classic translation detects and recognizes text, translates it with a text model, cleans the text regions and typesets the result. AI redraw gives the image and target language to an image model to generate a translated image.
Neither is always better. Classic focuses on text regions; redraw has more freedom and may change characters, backgrounds or lines. Compare representative pages rather than relying on one illustration.
Start with classic for everyday reading
Clear dialogue and regular bubbles are a useful starting point. Handwriting, perspective, small text and sound effects may still be missed. Check partial-result messages and compare with the original.
Free includes 30 classic pages per day. PLUS has no daily or monthly total limit for classic, while short-term rate and service-capacity limits still apply.
Try redraw deliberately
Redraw pages become available monthly with no rollover, including on annual plans. Eligible accounts may start the card-required trial shown for their plan. Re-subscribing or selecting a different plan does not reset trial eligibility.
Different modes and languages have separate results. You can keep a valid classic result while a redraw waits or fails, and return to the original whenever details matter.
Use a local manga translation service
Connect your own manga-translator-ui service by adding and selecting a local translation channel in extension settings. This does not require a NodeLane account or official translation allowances. You must run the service yourself; network requirements, available modes and image handling depend on that service.
